Important News - Cannon River Rendezvous and School Days will be held in 2010.
Check back for new developments, as our progress continues, Thank you, TCMLC

School Days demonatrations will be held on Thursday and Friday, May 27-28, 2010 at our new rendezvous site, The Whitson Family Farm, west of Cannon Falls. This will be prior to the opening of the main rendezvous, held over Memorial Day Weekend.
The Cannon River Rendezvous is a "living history" re-enactment of an event that would have occurred in the Minnesota Territory prior to 1840. The Rendezvous participants are in historically accurate clothing and shelters. The students, parents and teachers will be immersed in a rich discussion of history, social customs, science and the skills and items that were necessary to survive on the frontier. The time period we encompass with the Rendezvous is from the period of the fur-trade to the early colonization of our area, approximately 1700 to 1840. We want to bring the march of history to students in meaningful ways that they can relate to. More than just show and tell, your students will consider just what life was really like on the Minnesota frontier in the 1700 to 1840 time frame. This material is especially appropriate for most 4th through 8th grade classes studying American, Minnesota and local history.
If your school or home school students would like to attend our demonstration days, please contact us to have an application form mailed to you. We will try to accommodate all classes wishing to attend. Once your classes are registered we will send you a confirmation letter with additional information.
The Twin Cities Muzzle Loading Club, a historical re-enactment group (www.tcmlc.com), is sponsoring this event. If you have questions, or would like more information about the event, please email Bill Young , or call #612-879-9695 evenings. We hope you can join us for these exciting learning days at the Cannon River Rendezvous!
